7th -14th June 2012

Conception Part Two, Belfast

Canvas Galleries, Stranmillis Road, Belfast

27th September - 7th October 2012

Darren MacPherson and Patrick Colhoun introduce ‘Conception’, a two-part exhibition of work from two very different but complimentary artists. Two mediums, MacPherson’s vibrant, acid coloured figurative paintings alongside Colhoun’s dark, brooding, somewhat disturbing contemporary sculpture.

Part one, the London venue, a fresh, new contemporary space housed within a working factory in North Greenwich, a stones throw from the O2 Arena and the contemporary art hotbeds of Deptford and Peckham, an industrial setting that compliments both styles. The second venue, a contemporary gallery in Belfast, a city really starting to find its feet in the area of contemporary art. Two artists, two cultures, two cities, two mediums.

ANTHONY, NICOLA. 'CONCEPTION:

'An exhibition to create dialogue and duplicity' Trebuchet Magazine Online June 2012

'In this two-part exhibition spanning London and Belfast, the vibrant, acid coloured figurative canvases of Darren MacPherson are hung alongside Patrick Colhoun’s dark, brooding, somewhat disturbing contemporary sculpture. These two exciting artists come together in a mind-tingling combination which will really make your brain tick.'
